Belated Birthday Gift
May. 23rd, 2022 02:51 pmAfter a long journey overseas (and through U.S. Customs), I received a belated birthday gift from a sweet fandom friend!
She chose 8 of my fics to bind in a short story collection! She bound my fics! 8 of them!! MY WORDS in a REAL BOOK!! A book I can curl up with and flip through! (And appropriately in Puff colors, too!)
I am so blown away by this gift. It might sound silly, but this makes me feel like a "Real Writer." I feel so seen and validated and appreciated! I'm so very proud of my work and to see it in print! And most of all so touched and blessed to have such a thoughtful friend.
Anyway, I've been crying (and trying not to get my new book wet) since it arrived and I just had to share!! I'm so in love with it!!
(My lovely friend really sat there and read all of my work and loved my fics enough to choose some of them, print them out, take the time and effort and money to bind them, then shipped them from Germany to the U.S.! I still can't believe it.)
(She was so hoping it would be here by the 8th. It's the 23rd now. LOL. Better late than never, and a gal never minds extending her birthday celebrations, right??)
(Also she sent German snacks. Best birthday ever, right?? 30 is off to a great start!)
